A lot has happened since my last post almost over a year ago. Wow, where to begin.... Hmm.. well, for starters I've acquired an instant family, albeit an amazing one. I feel as though I belong. I feel heard. I feel seen. I feel a part of something larger than myself. I feel whole, and it feels absolutely wonderful!
If this past year has taught me anything, it is that the "fight" doesn't end. In life, every conquest, no matter how large, does not end there to just become smooth sailing moving forward. That was my biggest blunder. As every "addict" should know, it doesn't matter if you have been clean for 4 hours or 40 years, all it takes is one time to relapse and thats it, you start over from scratch! Or do you?
I recently viewed a documentary on Netflix titled, "Stutz". In this doc, a well known actor meets with his therapist to share some of the "tools" that has helped him in his life's journey, and decided to film a documentary to pass on this learned knowledge to those whom might find it useful, like you and me! The main tool, among the few mentioned, is something called "Part X".
Part X goes something like this: There are 3 areas of life that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is exempt from; and that is:
Pain
Uncertainty
Constant work
And that is what we all have in common. It doesn't matter how much money you hold, how popular, important or famous you are. No one, and I mean absolutely no one is exempt from Pain, Uncertainty, and Constant work, IF one hopes to achieve anything meaningful in this life. That is the secret ingredient, and that is my take away from my much needed reprieve. Once this information is accepted as an undeniable fact of life, the sky is the limit! And THAT is what I want my brand to represent,
