Hello! And welcome back!
I can’t help but feel a little bittersweet with the significance of todays date and what it means to This City and This Nation. It does not feel like twenty years has gone by so fast! But it has. One of my strongest questions I ask native New Yorkers since I’ve moved here is: Where were you on that day? Do you remember it happening? And all the different vivid accounts I’ve heard are as diverse and unique as they are saddening and humbling. It’s a reminder of how resilient, strong, and simply unwavering people can be.. especially given no other choice. I feel that’s why I enjoy the atmosphere here so much.. not only is it electrifying, but it’s also contagious. Fast forward 20 years and all that we’ve gone through since then? Personal and otherwise; As a society, a nation, and a culture, especially this last year in particular.. and people want to say New York is done? *blows raspberries* I respectfully disagree.
All that to say that I truly hope that everyone who has gone through a tough time, going through or will go through.. Well, you know, that’s kind of the point of this blog. Words only do so much, but if only a little bit helps, its still help none the less and that is all I can ask for.
So, I hope everyone enjoyed their Summer “Holiday”. I know I did.. it was certainly much needed! Lots of changes, which is the indeed the only constant…. But the grind never stops! so without further ado, it’s time to get back to these weekly blogs!
